Good set for the Pickleball enthusiasts. The set comes nicely packaged and includes balls, paddles and a carrying bag. Everything seems of solid quality. I feel these paddles provide consistent response across the paddle surface. Compared to my other paddles, the handles on these are slightly shorter. Just personal preference, but I like longer handles. The grip material is ok, but I would like a little more stick. The balls are great. Overall, a reasonable value that should satisfy most Pickleball players!
I highly recommend this racket. I have used other rackets but they are heavy and the handle grip slips off my hand. The paddle is lightweight, has an excellent grip handle and large center core to hit balls easily. As a beginner, it is an awesome paddle and I am having so much fun and enjoying playing pickleball.
Two of our dearest friends are avid Pickleball players, and we've been talking about trying it out. It's all the rage from coast to coast lately; we live in California and my brother lives in Maine, and they're opening up indoor and outdoor courts in both states everywhere. It is far easier on a older beginner, luck me than tennis is, with the paddle versus the stringed racket and the much smaller court. When I was growing up in the 80's my uncle put a Pickleball court in his backyard for his family, and they played all the time. The paddles then were basic wood, if I recall correctly, so times have changed for sure, and now the sport is so much more popular. This is a great set for my husband and I to learn the game with, I'm sure we'll get killed in a game with our friends, but maybe we can get some practice in before we play them! Our friends assured us that it is a good set for us to use as beginners, and it's a good price point too. It comes with two paddles, three yellow Pickleballs and a nice zippered bag to carry and keep them in.
Loved the carrying case especially. The paddles are made from an experienced brand and the balls are good for beginners.
Great set! Perfect for beginners and even more advanced players! Love the bag too!
While the paddles are not high-end, I still feel compelled to give this a good recommendation. Selkirk makes fine paddles and for a little over a hundred bucks, you get 2 paddles, 3 balls and a bag. If you are just starting out, this is a good set to start with as these paddles are well-rounded. They are not great at any one thing....but they are good enough to allow you to enjoy the game without your paddle becoming a distraction. Once your game develops, you can choose a paddle that aligns to your own personal strengths and weaknesses (paddle shape, size of the sweetspot, textured surface/spin, weight, grip/handle, etc.). My one gripe with this set is that the bag is a little on the cheap side....I don't love the bag. For $130, I'd think they could throw in a bag that is more substantial. Overall though, I really like Selkirk paddles and can recommend this as a good starter set.
